From colliding supernovas to the tomb of Tutankhamun and the man with the Midas touch, we will be exploring the materiality of gold, where this precious metal comes from and its symbolism in art and literature.
Nelly is a Specialist Scientist and Organic Analyst at the National Gallery with a background in paintings conservation.

Quais são as Violas Brasileiras? Viola Caipira, Viola de Cocho, Viola Repentista, Viola Machete Baiana, Viola de Buriti, Viola Caiçara. Conheça esses instrumentos populares, presentes do litoral ao interior do Brasil, que têm como elo sua origem ibérica e sua apropriação por nossos mestres populares, músicos e artesãos.
Neste vídeo, o violeiro e pesquisador Roberto Corrêa apresenta a riqueza e a diversidade das violas regionais brasileiras, abordando sua origem, suas características e as tradições que dão vida a esses instrumentos singulares.
Da Viola Caipira, do Brasil Central, à Viola Repentista, dos cantadores nordestinos, à Viola Machete Baiana, do recôncavo baiano, à Viola de Cocho, do pantanal, à Viola Caiçara, do litoral sul e à Viola de Buriti, do norte do país — cada uma carrega traços da cultura, da religiosidade e das práticas musicais de sua região.
