Twenty-five people have died in a ship fire that broke out in China on Thursday. The blaze happened aboard the Liberia-flagged, Chinese-owned cargo ship while it was at China’s eastern port of Qingdao. The vessel, with 42 people on board, was undergoing repairs at the Qingdao Beihai shipyard.

Indonesian authorities are searching for five journalists, two crew members and a guide who are missing near the erupting Mount Anak Krakatoa. The journalists were sent out to capture photos and videos of the eruption, which caused disruptions at several airports and blanketed major cities in volcanic ash for days. A deadly fire has broken out on board a passenger ferry near a tourist hotspot in the Philippines. At least five people have been reported dead and 87 missing after the Wednesday night blaze on the vessel heading from Manila to Palawan. Officials said at least 47 of the ship’s 134 passengers and crew have been rescued. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
