Who put the arrow in Harold's eye?
Charles Stothard, a 19th-century artist sent to document the Bayeux Tapestry, made 'notional reconstructions' of missing details based on the marks he could see in the fabric.
One of those interpretations may have helped turn Harold’s arrow-in-the-eye death into one of the most recognisable images in English history.
