A new paper claims what about Clovis people?

In this episode of Ethnocynology, David talks with friend and colleague Dr. Devin Pettigrew, a leading expert on the history and ballistics of the atlatl, and Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Sul Ross State University.

After a recent paper came out by Eren et al, claiming that Clovis hunters may have been more inclined to scavenge megafauna as opposed to hunting them, Devin and David dive into the paper and discuss the role of hunting in human history as well as the history of the atlatl, Overkill, and how the Clovis people would’ve hunted across the North American landscape.

They also discuss Devin’s future research and what this means for the field.
