The School Inside a Retirement Home That Changed Everything | Sir Ken Robinson
At Grace Living Center, preschool children attend school in the foyer of a retirement home. When elders joined as reading buddies, something unexpected happened. The children began graduating reading at Grade 3 level. The elders stopped taking their antidepressants. Some began living longer.
Not because of medicine. Because they had a reason to get up in the morning.
Sir Ken Robinson believed there’s an almost mystical connection between the very young and the very old. They look into each other’s eyes and simply see each other.
