What’s the Function of these Jars?

I use these types of boxes for a variety of things at home. There’s one in the kitchen for the large, flaky salt, and there’s another one into which my few precious rings and other trinkets find a home in, too.

Unlike many of my other lidded forms, these you can actually easily reach a hand inside, whereas with many other of my storage vessels, they work better if you tip things into them and then pour the contents out.

But if I’m honest, nowadays I can’t say how many of my storage vessels end up being used on a daily basis. Truthfully, I don’t always make them with function in mind, pots that could be in the kitchen line shelves at home as decorative objects and I couldn’t care less. It’s the artistry and skill in these pots that keep me coming back to them and perhaps eventually they’ll be pulled back into circulation in the kitchen, or plucked off of the shelf to celebrate a special day.
