手技 TEWAZA「南部鉄器」NAMBU Tekki (Cast Ironwork)／伝統工芸 青山スクエア Japan traditional crafts Aoyama Square

南部藩の盛岡で17世紀中頃、京都から釜師を招いたのが始まり。また伊達藩の水沢でも日用品鋳物の生産が盛んであった。今日でも焼型、乾燥形の鋳型作り、紋様押し、肌打ち、漆仕上げ等、伝統的技法により生産されている。

This ironware was started in the mid-17th century with artisans who were invited from Kyoto. The technique incolves pouring molten iron into a sand mold, whereby a kettle or a teakettle is casted. The sand lold with dots creates a tiny knobbed body on the kettle.
