ISHITANI - Making a Curve Legged Trestle Table in cherry

This time, the table was deeper than the Trestle tables we had made so far, so we had to come up with a new design to ensure durability.
The legs are joined with "Double Tenon joints" and the table top has "Tapered Sliding Dovetail joints".
The stretcher is "Double-wedged Through Tenon".
今回は、今まで製作したトレストルテーブルに比べ、奥行きのあるテーブルだったので、強度を保つため、新しくデザインを考える必要がありました。
脚部を「二枚ホゾ」で接合しており、天板は「吸い付き桟」で付いています。
貫は通しホゾを二枚のクサビで留めています。

High-Ranking Nazi Hermann Göring Surrenders to the U.S. 36th Infantry Division in May 1945

As Nazi Germany collapsed in the final days of World War II, Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring, one of Adolf Hitler’s highest-ranking deputies and head of the Luftwaffe, attempted to position himself as Hitler’s successor. On April 23, 1945, he sent a message to Hitler suggesting he take over leadership, since Hitler was trapped in Berlin. Hitler interpreted this as treason and stripped Göring of all titles and ordered his arrest.

Realizing Germany’s defeat was imminent, Göring attempted to surrender to the Western Allies rather than fall into Soviet hands. On May 6, 1945, he surrendered to U.S. forces near Radstadt in Austria. He was taken into custody without resistance.

The Americans treated Göring as a high-value prisoner. He was interrogated, held at Camp Ashcan (the interrogation center for senior Nazis), and later became the top defendant at the Nuremberg Trials. During the trials he attempted to defend the Nazi regime and portray himself as Hitler’s rational counterbalance, but he was found guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Sentenced to death by hanging, Göring avoided execution by committing suicide with cyanide on October 15, 1946.

A mobilização que desafia a violência, a favela pela favela

Depois da maior chacina da história do Rio de Janeiro, marcada por corpos enfileirados por moradores do Complexo do Alemão e da Penha, a vida dos moradores das favelas segue com indignação e medo, mas também com mobilização e trabalho de base. Existem outras histórias acontecendo em busca por dignidade, respeito e pertencimento, especialmente para a juventude, que neste contexto de falta de oportunidades, acaba sendo cooptada pelo tráfico.

Neste episódio do Pauta Pública, a conversa é com David Amen, morador do Complexo do Alemão e cofundador do Instituto Raízes em Movimento. Ele fala sobre o que acontece longe das câmeras e da espetacularização da violência: as ações de educação, cultura, comunicação comunitária e apoio à juventude que continuam acontecendo todos os dias nos territórios, e destaca a importância de escutar a favela por dentro.

Há 90 anos, morria Fernando António Nogueira Pessoa (1888-1935), um dos maiores poetas do século 20. Mas o português não chegou a ver o próprio sucesso: a maior parte de sua obra foi publicada postumamente, após a descoberta, em seu apartamento, de uma arca com mais de 30 mil manuscritos. Papéis assinados não só por Pessoa, mas por dezenas de heterônimos, entre eles Álvaro de Campos, Alberto Caeiro e Ricardo Reis.

Este episódio especial, em formato narrativo, investiga a vida e o legado de Pessoa — um quebra-cabeça que continua entretendo estudiosos, artistas e leitores.
