Vladimir Sapožnin (b. 1906), a distinguished artist of the Estonian SSR, represents a truly unique phenomenon in vocal art. A classically trained singer, he studied under Professor K. Mostras in Moscow and later in the class of Professor J. Paulsen in Tallinn, and has also established himself as a conductor.

At the same time, Sapožnin reveals himself as a remarkably versatile performer and an exceptional master of imitation. Using only his voice, he recreates the timbres of symphony orchestra instruments and brings to life well-known variety performers with striking authenticity.

For over a quarter of a century, the artist has appeared on stage, from his earliest performances in the circus arena to his later work as a true virtuoso of transformation, continually astonishing audiences with his rare and multifaceted talent.
